The owners wanted a kitchen that felt connected to the landscape and could host the whole family. We reworked the layout around a generous stone island and wrapped the room in rift white oak.
Design challenge
Balancing a large island with clear circulation to the dining and living areas.
Construction challenge
Removing a load-bearing wall to open sightlines without interrupting the ceiling plane.
Our solution
A flush engineered beam, relocated services and a waterfall island sized precisely to the new walkways.
